The Coast Way is a major road that links Baldur’s Gate and all of the Sword Coast, to Amn and all of the South.

Encounter Rules
Generate an encounter the first time the party goes to one of this hex’s features and every 12 hours. Encounters can happen on the way to the location or at the destination. If an encounter would happen while the party rests, good survival skills while setting up camp make the encounter happen after the full rest is completed. Search the Baldur’s Gate Wiki for informations on named NPC. Do not hesitate to replace any named NPC by one the players have already met from time to time! It makes for a better story.
Feature A - The Lion’s Way Crossroad
A large obelisk is inscribed with the direction of major settlements: The Friendly Arm and Baldur’s Gate to the North, Candlekeep to the West, and Beregost and Amn to the South.
Feature B - Pillaged Caravan
A caravan of many wagons has been pillaged and left stranded in the woods near the Coast Way. Rumor has it that duke Entar Silvershield’s son was traveling with it.
Feature C - Belt Ogre Hut
Locals know to bring an extra belt when traveling the road: a weird ogre with a belt fetish lives here and often trades belts for safe passage.
