Hex 23 - Trade Way
This is one of the many segments of a long road called the Trade Way that links the Lands of Intrigue in the South to Icewind Dale to the North. This point of the road is notable because it is the only northern point of entry into Amn.
Biome: Evergreen . Dark pines, chatty ravens, brisk air, lichen-covered rocks.

Encounter Rules
Generate an encounter the first time the party goes to one of this hex’s features and every 12 hours. Encounters can happen on the way to the location or at the destination. If an encounter would happen while the party rests, good survival skills while setting up camp make the encounter happen after the full rest is completed. Search the Baldur’s Gate Wiki for informations on named NPC. Do not hesitate to replace any named NPC by one the players have already met from time to time! It makes for a better story.
Feature A - Amnian Milestone
This milestone marks the northern border of the merchant kingdom of Amn. Tension is high and the Flaming Fist mercenaries are highly suspicious of whoever wants to go there.
Feature B - Sunken House
What was once a big cottage is now half sunken into a swamp here. Its last owner, Tamah Tharthyn has disapeared decades ago (she is petrified in Mutamin’s Garden). Her next of kin have given it to Velmos Sonder, a priest of Milil, who plans to transform it into a monastery.
Feature C - Smuggler Cave
Hidden below a giant boulder is a cave used by smugglers to transit illicit goods across the border.
