Encounter Rules
Generate an encounter the first time the party goes to one of this hex’s features and every 12 hours. Encounters can happen on the way to the location or at the destination. If an encounter would happen while the party rests, good survival skills while setting up camp make the encounter happen after the full rest is completed. Search the Baldur’s Gate Wiki for information on named NPC. Do not hesitate to replace any named NPC by one the players have already met from time to time! It makes for a better story.
Feature A - Fisherman’s Lake
This big lake is fed by the river that goes through the mining town of Nashkel. For this reason, many locals like Chelan and Torlo come here to fish. They speak of the legend of the lake’s monster.
Feature B - Abandoned Lodge
The big lakeside hunting lodge was used by amnian aristocrats on hunting trips but has fallen to disuse after too many xvart raids. Even half sunken and covered in graffitis, it could be a good base of operation.
Feature C - Underwater Den
Sometimes, bubbling can be seen coming from the center of the lake. They are the only trace of the underwater den of a giant pike below, and the treasures it hides.
