The jagged reefs of the Sword-Coast South of Candlekeep are treatcherous even for the most experienced navigator.

Biome: Coast. Rugged clifs, vivifying wind, salt and seaweed, enthusiastic seagulls.

Encounter Rules

Generate an encounter the first time the party goes to one of this hex’s features and every 12 hours. Encounters can happen on the way to the location or at the destination. If an encounter would happen while the party rests, good survival skills while setting up camp make the encounter happen after the full rest is completed. Search the Baldur’s Gate Wiki for informations on named NPC. Do not hesitate to replace any named NPC by one the players have already met from time to time! It makes for a better story.


Feature A - Beached Wreck

The most visible and easily accessible wreck of this part of the coast. Mad Arcand the gnome has been scrounging here recently.


Feature B - Choked Wreck

You need to rappel down a cliff to reach this wreck. It is choked by barnacles and seaweed, and infested with carrion crawlers.


Feature C - Hanging Wreck

Stuck 50 ft above water between two rock spires, this wreck has probably not been looted yet.
