Encounter Rules

Generate an encounter the first time the party goes to one of this hex’s features and every 12 hours. Encounters can happen on the way to the location or at the destination. If an encounter would happen while the party rests, good survival skills while setting up camp make the encounter happen after the full rest is completed. Search the Baldur’s Gate Wiki for information on named NPC. Do not hesitate to replace any named NPC by one the players have already met from time to time! It makes for a better story.

Feature A - Nashkel Mines

Carved from the slopes of the Cloud Peaks, Nashkel mines are of vital importance for the country of Amn. Many wooden cranes and warehouses dot the sides of the quarry, and, at its bottom, the entrance of the mines are guarded by a row of soldiers.

Feature B - Prism’s Magna Opus

The sculptor prism is hiding here as he is feverishly carving the face of elven queen Ellesime in the granite.

Feature C - Thunderstruck Pine

A lone burnt pine stands alone on a plateau south of the mines. Keen observers will notice the telltale signs of an arcane battle. A magical wand is encased in the wood where lightning keeps striking.
