Sentient pebbles. Gravel Mephits have no conception of the future, or change. They are full of nostalgia, and want to preserve everything. Sometimes serving an earth elemental. Is itself a type of small earth elemental.

→ How to read monster stats

This creature is a living pile of gravel and is thus only affected by things that would affect stone. It can only survive 10 minutes without touching solid ground.

Attacks (1/round)

Punch. The mephit makes a melee attack (1D4 dmg).

Spit Gravel. The mephit covers a small area with caltrops (dex to move through). Automatic when it dies.

Enlarge (1/day). The mephit becomes as big as a human for 10 minutes. Its damage increase by 1 dice size and it gains 1D8 temporary HP.

• You gain 1 Doom Point (roll for Catastrophe);
• You gain 1 Spell Die and learn the spell Conjure Gravel Mephit (below);
• Roll a D6, you mutate in the following way :

1. 1D4 inventory slots are filled with gravel. It comes back as soon as you remove it.
2. Your words are replaced by tiny gravel mephits that mime them before collapsing.
3. Your sweat is replaced by sand. You’ll never be comfortable again.
4. Each time you rest, one thing near you is stolen by a mephit and brought to the plane of earth.
5. You have a phobia of not touching the ground.
6. You can change one word from a class ability you have or a spell you know to gravel.

If you roll a Catastrophe, the elemental is released and hostile, and you lose the Spell Dice.
